Substantial Fragment of a Medieval Qur’an manuscript penned in the beautiful Thuluth style script. About 500-600 years old. Different surahs nicely put together as one block. In Arabic, on paper [Northern India, probably sixteenth century] 138 leaves, uncollatable and wanting single leaves and perhaps a few gatherings throughout, single column, three lines of bold black thuluth script, headings and important verses gold plated, gold plated roundels marking the verses throughout, red and blue palmetts (a striking feature of medieval Qurans) marking important sections in the margins, many edges/margins repaired professionally (few leaves with loss of text). 110 mm by 90 mm Small attractive pocket size copy, modern leather binding with a flap. A small size Quran from Northern India in a beautiful thuluth. A very rare beautiful script on offer here for a very reasonable amount.
